When Yacedrah Williams accidentally used an adhesive for repairing broken nails instead of lubricating eye drops last Thursday, she closed her eyes

A woman in Michigan was lucky to be able to see things after mistaken a bottle of nail glue for eye drops.

According to the Detroit news outlet WXYZ, Yacedrah Williams accidentally used an adhesive for repairing broken nails last Thursday, instead of lubricating eye drops for contact lenses, when she closed her eyes.

Williams told the media that she woke up in the middle of the night with dry eyes and wanted to take out contact lenses.

In her groggy state, she reached for her purse-where she put the eye drops-but took out a bottle of nail glue of similar size by mistake.

Williams said that when the liquid fell into her eyes, she realized that she had grabbed the wrong bottle.

However, it was too late and her eyes were stuck. Williams said she began to panic and screamed for her husband to call 911.

"It closed my eyes," Williams recalled. "I just started pouring cold water. I wanted to separate my eyes, but I couldn't."

"It is completely closed," she added.
