The retailer says it is "built to last"

Aldi has set out to impress home cooks with its latest Specialbuy product. A dupe of a high end KitchenAid design, the budget retailer is rolling out classic 2.6L stand mixers finished in either cream or green for £49.99.

John Lewis is currently selling a slightly larger 3.3L KitchenAid mini stand mixer in a choice of colours for between £349 - £399. The price alters depending upon the colour chosen.

Budget retailer Aldi says the chain's 800w, 6 speed mixer comes with a whisk, dough hook and splash guard with filling hole, adding: "This food mixer has been built to last. It comes equipped with a dishwasher safe accessory set... All you need to do is add your ingredients to the polished stainless steel bowl with handle and let this powerful baking mixer do the work for you."

The mixer comes with a 36 month guarantee but, as this is a pre-release, has yet to be reviewed on the supermarket's website. However, previous Ambiano mixers sold by the retailer have been reviewed. The 800W 5 litre version of the product had a 4.5 star rating with shoppers commenting: "Great machine. I brought this machine a while ago and its one of my favourite gadgets now."

Another shopper added: "Great mixer. The mixer is fine for basic uses like kneading dough, whisking etc. and doesn’t involve multiple components like my other heavy processor. It’s simple to use." A third said: "Good product. It’s doing the job. It might be a bit noisy and slower than maybe others, but for a domestic kitchen, it’s perfect. Quite happy I’ve bought it." The 2.6L version is available to buy in store from Thursday, September 8, or pre-order online now, the Ambiano classic stand mixer is 'selling fast'.
