Want thicker eyelashes? Five simple ways to make them look bigger

Want to impress your eyelashes? First, make the most of what you have.

Long, thick eyelashes may be tiny tendrils, but they can have serious effects. Maybe it's because they contrast sharply with the whiteness of the sclera of the eyes, or how they outline our most expressive facial features so beautifully, but they will never go out of style. The best way to make them look longer and thicker naturally is to make the most of what you have.

Use oil or balm cleaner

I sometimes read that castor oil and coconut oil thicken eyelashes. Both are very sticky and can make the eyelashes feel bulkier, but they don't make anything physically thicker. However, removing makeup with oil or balm cleaners can help protect and condition your eyelashes, allowing them to reach their maximum growth potential. Removing eye makeup is my least favorite part of cleansing. It needs to be done carefully to avoid discomfort and loss of eyelashes, and it takes time to do this thoroughly. A fragrance-free oil-based cleaner can save you money and effort.

My grandmother is smart about many things, and Pond's Cold Cream based on mineral oil is one of them. Stay with me, ladies who are naturally oily, because many of these products have emulsifiers. When you rinse them, they turn into emulsions. The viscosity of the oily phase is better than water-based cleansers to apply and remove makeup thoroughly. Pestle&Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm, priced at 39.35 euros on meadowrspharmacy.ie, is a non-greasy blend made of cold-pressed spiraea, pumpkin enzyme and cactus seed oil that can be conditioned during cleaning.

Each mascara is unique and some are drier. For example, formulas that hold curl firmly or are waterproof tend to make eyelashes feel brittle. After using any new product for several days, it is worthwhile to monitor how your eyelashes feel. Instead of giving up your favorite mascara, you can also try to switch to a lighter or more emollient mascara every week. According to my experience, Delilah Intense Day-to-Night Buildable Volume Mascara, priced at 27.45 Euros on lookfantastic.ie, is very suitable for conditioning. It contains a vegan vegetable wax mixture as a base and some vitamin E.

Róen Cake Mascara, 28.75 euros, on cultbeauty.com, another vegan formula, which is a shiny black color, and the brush head can be separated well. Olive oil and more vegan wax make the eyelashes feel good.

The fewer changes you make to your natural eyelashes, the more likely they are to thrive. Just as heating appliances can make hair brittle, heating curling irons can also damage eyelashes. Eyelashes are much more delicate than hair. Using false eyelashes will aggravate and weaken eyelashes. The adhesive attached to false eyelashes irritates the edges above the natural roots, and inflammation promotes the loss of eyelashes. If you really like the appearance of these enhancements, I suggest you stay away from them, but even a six-month break (you will need this time to strengthen and regenerate your eyelashes) can completely change your natural reserve.

Over-the-counter eyelash growth fluid does not work, but conditioner helps

If you are concerned about the Kardashian sisters, you may have heard of Latisse, a prescription serum containing the active ingredient bimatoprost, which is a glaucoma medicine that can grow eyelashes. Bimatoprost is currently the only validated and approved method to locally promote eyelash growth. This has not stopped many beauty brands from promising that their peptide or plant extract-based products can achieve eyelash growth without a doctor's visit or high prices. This is not dishonest in itself. Applying peptides or vegetable oils to the eyelashes can have a conditioning effect, thereby reducing eyelash breakage and shedding. However, those are not the new eyelashes you see in the before and after photos-they are just the model's existing eyelashes, and they can last longer before they fall off. Over-the-counter serums will not harm your eyes, but you can use petroleum jelly, evening primrose oil, and other moisturizers you may already have to condition your eyelashes.

Check potential conditions

The length, density and longevity of your eyelashes depend to a large extent on your genes, but you should not ignore the unusual amount of shedding. Just like our hair, eyelashes can indicate overall health, and it is best to check for sudden changes. Eyelash loss may be a sign of immune condition alopecia areata or thyroid problems, as well as a side effect of inflammatory skin problems such as blepharitis. Changes that can cause hair loss on the head-dieting, stress, unbalanced attempts to vegetarianism, etc.-can also cause eyelashes to fall out. Improving or solving these other problems is a more reliable way to return to normal than my above tips.
